Capture

Multiple Flying Platforms:

Key Aircraft (Cessna 206, Cessna 402, Partenavia P68) - Helicopters also used where required.
All aircraft remain in New Zealand, centrally located in Nelson.
Local pilots and crew with experience in New Zealand conditions.
All aircraft have large format camera hatches suitable and dedicated to survey work.

Emergency Response Capture

Aerial Surveys offers immediate capture for emergency response management with rapid deployment and fast delivery of data capture. Aerial Surveys is always ready to respond with New Zealand based sensors, aircraft and crew.

Historic Scanning

Aerial Surveys has two Leica large format negative scanners running, ready to scan negatives from our Library or yours. In the world of historical preservation and environmental monitoring, historic aerial imagery is a powerful tool that can unveil the secrets of the past.

Mapping

Post capture processing is a key step in delivering high accuracy map products. The processing effort varies based on the capture method, sensor, scale of capture and required end products. The following outlines some of the processing and end products available.

Imagery (Digital & Historic)

Orthophotos - Geometrically corrected images.

Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) - Represent the Earth's surface terrain.

Digital Surface Models (DSMs) - Include the Earth's surface and objects on it, like buildings and vegetation.

3D Models (3D Meshes) - Created using photogrammetry techniques.

LiDAR

Classified Point Cloud - Ground and above ground features classified to client requirements.

Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) - Represent the Earth's surface terrain.

Aerial Surveys can produce the highest quality 3D Mesh by combining our raw image frames and LiDAR.3D Meshes can be large so we also provide hosting options.

Aerial Surveys Libraries

Aerial Surveys has an extensive photographic library that contains images dating back to the 1950s. Prior to 2007 Aerial Surveys also owned the renowned Whites Aviation photographic library which has now been taken over by the Alexander Turnbull Library in Wellington. In addition to imagery Aerial Surveys has collected a significant amount of LiDAR data throughout New Zealand which is continually growing and is a very useful library of elevation data.
